Introduction of DBO residential unit distribution board

This panel is used for protection, distribution and flow control in residential houses.

Technical specifications of the home electrical panel

Electricity distribution to residential units and common areas in the electrical panel of the building is done in such a way that a cable is entered into the electricity meter by the electricity distribution company, and after passing through the meters, the electricity is distributed to the units under the protection of miniature switches. In the electrical panel of the building, it is possible to install three-phase meters (for elevators, engine rooms, or treatment plants) and single-phase meters. The body of the electrical panel of the building is offered in three categories: standing, built-in, and facing. During the construction of the building, the installation method is determined and it usually remains in the same state until the reconstruction.

Types of electric meter panels

Household electrical panels are divided into three general categories, which are usually the main panel and the electrical panel for dividing units in most buildings; We will describe them below.

  • Main switchboard

The duty of the main switchboard to protect the meters and receive electricity from the main branch side is stated; This switchboard has three parts, the power input (taken from the power pole), the meter part and the output part. The cable is connected to this panel through the electric pole. The main switchboard supplies electricity to the commons as well as electricity to the entire building, in fact, it can be considered the main branch, which we call the main switchboard.

The number of meters in the meter switchboard is determined according to the number of residential units. The way of power supply is that in the main electrical panel, there are certain circuits that are installed in such a way that the output of each fuse can enter a meter.

  • Public switchboard

The public electrical panel is basically the same panel that is installed near the entrance door in most buildings; The reason for installing the public switchboard in this place is the easier reading of the electricity distribution company officials. In some buildings, the public electricity meter has separate compartments, but a place can be considered for it in the electrical panel of the meter. In fact, in addition to supplying electricity to the units, the public switchboard is responsible for distributing electricity to places such as elevators, roofs, staircases, fire alarm systems, and all common electrical appliances used by all residents of a building.

In the public switchboard, 32 amp fuses are used to protect the meters, and 10 amp fuses are used to power the lighting system, and 16 amp fuses are used to power the building’s common switches. Of course, in buildings with elevators, a separate three-phase fuse should be considered for the three-phase meter. The size of the body dimensions of the public switchboard is variable, which is calculated according to the number of meters and the standard of each region.

In the public electrical panel, due to the use of many wires and cables, it is better to use plastic ducts or fasteners and labels to identify where each cable or wire is for. The switches used in public switchboards are type B (emergency or lighting).

  • Unit division switchboard

The unit split switchboard in most of today’s houses is inside the units, where quick-action switches or B-type switches are used, such as miniature and life-saving switches. These types of boards are also called fuse boxes or distribution boxes.

In fact, the way the electrical panel works is to divide the unit in such a way that it feeds from the main panel and the output of the meter is connected to the miniature switches in the same unit and performs the power supply inside the unit. By means of the unit division switchboard, it is possible to cut off the electricity of different parts of a house without cutting off the electricity of other parts. When there is a failure or a connection in the electrical equipment of the house, these keys operate automatically and remove the equipment from the circuit.

Home electrical panel

In the design and construction of the electrical panel of the building with single-phase input, we must use the maps to identify the desired building and also the place where these panels are supposed to perform the electricity distribution work in that area. In the construction of a household switchboard with a single-phase input, one should pay attention to the fact that experts should be consulted for the construction so that one can be sure that all the parts mentioned in the map are electrified. Household switchboard with single phase input is mostly used in buildings, in switchboard with single phase input, our input current receives 220V AC voltage from the switchboard before it. As it was said before, the approval of the electricity department, in addition to being necessary to obtain a license, is a guarantee for the quality and longevity of household electrical panels. In addition to the electrical panels mentioned in the houses that are equipped with elevators, electrical panels with three-phase input are installed in the elevator engine room to feed the elevator. These electrical panels house the elevator control panel and the elevator inverter.

Types of household electrical panels based on structure

If we want to classify the electrical panel according to the type of body, we must divide it into two categories: standing (no need to harness) and wall.

  • Self Standing electrical panel: This home electrical panel does not need to be restrained with screws or such holders.
  • Wall Mounted switchboard: It is one of the most widely used switchboards in various fields, which can be used in two ways, built-in or surface-mounted, and home switchboards or meters are also made in this way.

The dimensions of the electrical panel of the building

The building’s meter box is made based on the number of units with meters. Also, in the construction of the building’s electricity meter board, a space for its development should be considered. , such as: 4-meter switchboard or 4-unit switchboard.

Electric meter box material

The material of the home electrical panel is one of the things that should be chosen according to the standard of the customer’s region and the installation location. With these interpretations, it can be said that the electrical panel of the building can be made in different sizes and materials such as composite, metal, fiberglass, Produced plastic, polycarbonate, etc.
